Ulrich Sinzig was born in Berne. He studied law at Berne University and completed career-complementing studies in tourism, traffic management, marketing and corporate governance at the Universities of St. Gallen and Berne, as well as at the Center for Corporate Governance, ZFU.

He began his professional career as an attorney, before becoming manager of the City of Berne’s General Holdings Bureau and affiliated traffic, energy, maintenance and waste disposal enterprises. He then took on the executive management of Aare Seeland Mobil AG, a widely diverse transport and tourism company. During his long time as CEO, the company took a completely new direction and achieved a leading position in the sector.

Mr. Sinzig has acquired profound leadership experience and expertise in the tourism/hotel, traffic, energy and culture sectors, through his varied inter-sectoral activities in the private and semi-public sectors. These include the positions of Vice President of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), Vice President of Swiss Tourism, Board Member of Berner Kraftwerke AG, Vice President of Grand Casino Hotel Allegro Kursaal Berne and President of the Paul Klee Center. As President of Langenthal City Council and member of the Great Council Berne, he was able to study and control political processes. He has acquired further valuable international leadership experience as President and Member of various committees of the global organization Public Traffic.
