The landslide in the Lötschental has left a significant impact on the tourism sector. With the loss of several accommodation businesses and a marked decline in overnight stays, the region is facing major challenges. Tourism stakeholders and municipalities in the valley have therefore joined forces to actively and collaboratively drive the development of the Lötschental.
The project “Sustainable Development of the Accommodation Offer in the Lötschental” aims to address the structural downturn and lay the foundation for a future-oriented development.
At its core is the development of an accommodation strategy for the valley, including clear milestones and concrete measures. Building on this, an implementable, cross-business concept for an integrated operating company will be developed. This will enable new, market-oriented offers, leverage synergies, and serve as a platform for succession planning of existing infrastructures.
The project is supported by the municipalities of Ferden, Kippel, Wiler, Blatten, and Steg-Hohtenn, as well as Lötschental Marketing AG. conim ag is responsible for the overall operational management and supports the implementation. The project is funded by the federal “Innotour” programme of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
