The «Dorfhotel Simplon Dorf» in Simplon Dorf represents an innovative approach to hospitality in mountain regions. The official launch took place at a press conference on 27 March 2026; the start of the summer season is scheduled for 8 May 2026.
In the future, the Grina, Fletschhorn and Post hotels will be operated as a single hotel comprising three properties under a shared concept. This will allow resources to be pooled and synergies to be leveraged, while preserving the identity of each individual establishment.
At conim AG, we are supporting the hotel owners and the municipality of Simplon – in collaboration with Brig Simplon Tourism – in developing and implementing this sustainable structure, from strategic planning through to day-to-day operations. In the first year, Anna Schmutz, an experienced hotel professional, will take on operational management, laying the foundation for a sustainable, long-term solution.

The project is backed by local partners and enjoys broad support. In addition to the participating businesses and the municipality of Simplon, it is supported by, amongst others, the New Regional Policy (NRP) of the Canton of Valais, the Lebensraum Simplon-Süd Foundation, the Simplon Tourism Association and the Gemeinden Region Oberwallis Association.
It demonstrates how cooperation in mountain regions can create new perspectives – economically viable and firmly rooted in the region.
